Writers Guild Celebration with storyteller and author Carmen Agra Deedy
This will be our traditional celebration with the author/illustrator visit in the morning, while the afternoon is reserved to pay tribute to our “local” Lower School TLS authors and illustrators as they read their books to their families and friends. Refreshments will be served. Our visiting author’s books will be available for purchase, and Ms. Deedy will be available for book signings throughout the afternoon.
The Lower School students are busy writing and illustrating their Writers Guild books. Please mark your calendars to attend your child's spotlight reception in the library on Friday, May 8, 2015.
Welcome back! We hope that everyone had a wonderful summer vacation and read lots of wonderful books. We can't wait to hear all about the stories you read and we look forward to sharing with you all the new books that we discovered over the summer.
The Lexington School library doors are always open, so come on in and check out a new book!
Mark your calendars for Lower School's Writers Guild on Friday, May 11th in the library. The reception schedules are posted to the left. This year's guest of honor will be Alexander Stadler, author and illustrator of the popular Beverly Billingsly series and the new Julian Rodriguez chapter books.
Parents, did you know that the library is open to you as well! We have wonderful books that you may check out to share with your children. In addition, we also have a very helpful parent collection that you may chose from. So stop by today and start checking out!
The library will host their annual Open House on Friday, November 11, 2011, to kick off the Library Gift Book Program. The Library Gift Book Program runs year round, and it allows books to be dedicated in honor of students and teachers. It is a great way to celebrate our love for reading! The Open House event is an all day event, so please stop by to visit.
It may be a new page as you enter a new grade, or maybe even a new chapter if you graduated to the next division, but don't forget to stop by the library and tell Ms. Nawor and Mrs. Hancock all about the wonderful books you discovered over the summer!
It's almost summer, so we are making our traditional call for all library books to make their way back to the library. The Lexington School library does not charge fines for overdue books, however, there are replacement fees for lost or damage books. Please visit, call, or email your friendly librarians (librarians@thelexingtonschool.org) if you have any questions about your child's library books.
Thank you, and remember, just keep reading! See you in August!
Author and illustrator, Eileen Christelow, will be visiting the lower school students on Friday, May 13th, in honor Writers Guild 2011. Mrs. Christelow is the author and illustrator of many popular picture books, such as the Five Little Monkeys series, The Five-Dog Night, Letters from a Desperate Dog, and many, many others! Please visit www.christelow.com for more information about her!
We invite the guests of all lower school students to join us for a reception in the library as we celebrate our own local young author and illustrators! Please visit your child's grade webpage for reception times, or contact the librarians, librarians@thelexingtonschool.org.
We look forward to seeing each of you on this very special day!

Word of caution to all the Knuffle Bunny fans out there, the epilogue made Mrs. Hancock teary eyed...so you've been warned, you may need tissues in hand before reading this one!
